36. The Wedding

The morning of the wedding, Kaylee refused to let Laila cook

All she could do is watch helplessly whilst
 someone else was in the kitchen

After a quick breakfast, keeping true to her word, Laila, Kaylee
and Isabella headed out to get Laila ready for her big day

Leaving Carl home to get himself ready

Isabella had been able to pull some strings and book
 the salon for Laila's big day

They found a simple yet elegant dress, it was perfect.
Laila also swapped her glasses out for contacts
 on her special day.

"What did i tell you, Beautiful in every sense of
the word" Isabella said

"That was your doing not mine. I just sorta stood there" Laila said

It wasn't long before the service was to start and
Carl was looking very handsome under the alter

Laila, looking beautiful in her gown, walked
 down the flower covered aisle to meet him.

Everyone gathered around

They then exchanged their vows
"Laila Bellrose, you are the greatest friend i have ever had,
been with me through every dark time and every good time. I feel
honored that you would choose to spend your life with me and i
will do my utmost best to be worthy of your love" Carl said with
 such sincerity that Isabella began to tear up.

And exchanged their rings and "i do's"

They looked beautiful

After the service everyone headed inside for the reception

Carl always seems to eat his food with such gusto 

It was a lovely meal that everyone throughly enjoyed

After their meal Everyone headed upstairs
 were Nigel played on the piano

Laila and Carl danced slowly to the music

Sean also managed to squeeze in a dance with his daughter

Oblivious to the paparazzi snapping pictures
Carl and Laila swayed to the music for hours,
 lost in each others eyes

Everyone headed home and well.... lets leave it at that

Kaylee headed again into the unused nursery
and gazed into the empty crib

Sean found her just sitting their
"Kaylee, whats wrong." Sean said seeing the sadness in her eyes

"I don't know if i will get to see the next generation Sean,
 i don't know how much longer
 i am going to be around." Kaylee said tearing up

"Kaylee, don't think like that. You have years left."
 Sean reassured her "Come on lets go to bed"

The next morning Kaylee asked Laila to meet her by the stable

"Whats wrong Kaylee?, you wanted to see me" Laila asked

"Does something have to be wrong for me to want
 to see my new granddaughter in law" Kaylee joked

"Ah... No..... sorry" Laila stuttered 

"It's fine Laila, i was just messing with you. The truth is i want you
to know that although i might not live to see your children,
 that i.. i want you to tell them that i still love them and
 still watch over them. I hate the idea of my great grandkids not
even knowing who i am. Please don't tell Sean i said this but i
fear my time is coming and i want you to know how much it means
to me that Carl has found such a kind, beutiful young lady to
continue this challenge with and i want to
thank you for that." Kaylee said

"Kaylee, you are such an amazing person and so strong.
No child of mine will ever not know that, you have my word.
besides i don't think you will miss the opportunity to see them
. Me and Carl have already talked about a child,
 i'm sure you will see them before your time is up" Laila said

"Thank you Laila, that really means a lot to me" Kaylee said

"You will be a great mother." Kaylee said

With that heartfelt moment it was Laila's turn for a ride on Alida

Laila wasn't to sure so Kaylee walked with her
 leading Alida around the yard

Unlike Issy, Laila began to enjoy herself and spent the rest of the
 day riding around the nearby countryside
